NEW IN 2011

16th December

The final What’s New for 2011 and everyone at Game Ops would like to take this opportunity to wish all our clients and contractors a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you Carleen for yet another great Christmas Ad!

We look forward to catching up with you all in 2012!

Xmas2011MCVad

9th November

Despite the turbulent time the games industry has experienced over the last few months, retail sales have increased substantially off the back of the Christmas blockbuster releases such as MW3, Batman and Football Manager and new studios continue to secure funding and projects.

Nine years on, Game Ops can now boast a register of over 850 experienced contractors from both the games industry and TV and film, as well as numerous teams across all disciplines. Despite having such a vast reservoir of talent, Game Ops would always welcome professionals who feel that freelancing is the way forward and are eager to offer their skills to an evolving industry. We understand in-sourcing better than anyone else, so send us an email or give us a call on 01382 731909

1st August

It was sad to hear the announcement of the closure of its Warrington studios by games publisher THQ last month and Game Ops will do all we can to help those affected.

There are a number of new opportunities on both our Contract and Job boards this month, so please get in touch and find out if these roles are suitable for you. Either call us on 01382 731909 or email and we will be happy to discuss your options.

Everyone at Game Ops would like to congratulate our Business Manager Gemma and her husband John on the birth of their son Ethan. A big thank you to all the clients and contractors who have sent their best wishes.

6th June

Another studio joins the development community in Dundee - great news for Scotland and the UK games industry. Game Ops would like to wish eeGeo all the very best for the future.

Apologies for the delay in updating the contracts boards recently, however, all the roles displayed are new opportunities and we need to find candidates as quickly as possible.

If you are currently available and would like to know more about a specific role then please drop us an email or give us a call on 01382 731909 right away.

16th March

Since GDC, Game Ops has received a number of new contracts and some are for an immediate start. Please look at the contracts board and contact us straight away if you are available and have the skillsets we are looking for. Remember all travel and accommodation expenses are covered if the contract is in-house and as always Game Ops will ensure you receive the best rates.

You can either email or call Gemma, but do not delay as we need to fill these ASAP.

16th February

Regrettably there were more job losses this month; however, it is great to hear of a new start up - Outplay Entertainment - in Dundee which will open its doors in approximately 4 weeks. Game Ops would like to wish them well.

With the possibility of future tax breaks for the Games Industry in Scotland, we will hopefully start to see an increase in developers choosing Scotland as their location as well as the prospect of expansion of existing developers.

For those of you now looking for a new and exciting opportunity, Game Ops would like to help. Please call Gemma on 01382 731909 to register or drop us an email and submit your CV.

19th January

A good start to 2011 - Game Ops can offer several new contracts and permanent roles. The contracts vary in length and location and as always offer very good rates and all expenses are covered. Check out the job boards and if you would like more information please drop us an email or give us a call on 01382 731909.
