The last few weeks have been a testing time for the Games Industry and in particular in Scotland. Game Ops wishes all those concerned the very best for the future and we will do all we can to help those affected.

25th July

Despite minor changes at Game Ops, notably Steph moving out to Brisbane, we have and will continue to deliver a highly professional and individual service to all our clients and contractors.

We can guarantee that CVs are never put forward without permission and that only candidates that match a client’s specification are submitted for consideration. Game Ops will always aim to match as closely as we can a client or contractor’s requirement and we recognise that often precious time is wasted by all parties when this process is not followed. Consistent communication throughout a search is paramount to a successful outcome.

15th June

Almost half way through the year already and Game Ops has noticed a steady increase in both contract and permanent positions - fingers crossed that this is a good indicator for the industry for the remainder of 2010.

11th May

Over the next few weeks we will be contacting some of you to verify your current status. Thank you to those of you who have already notified us.

It is very important to keep the register updated to ensure a quick response to a client who has a contract requirement. As a general rule, Game Ops is able to supply contractors within a 48 hour period. Such a service is not only impressive, but very welcome to many studios with milestones to meet.

An updated CV can be sent to us by email and amended portfolios are also welcome.

A busy month so far for Game Ops and we have several new contracts and positions available.

The contracts can be either in-house or remote, however the more flexible you are, the more opportunities we are able to offer.

Hopefully the bad weather is behind us and spring is around the corner.

This month there has been an increase in the the amount of requests for in-house contractors all over the UK and we are aware that some contractors have concerns with regards to the costs involved whilst working in this way. The majority of the studios who work with Game Ops will pay travel expenses and accommodation if required.

Furthermore, we will ensure that regular contact is maintained for the duration of the contract to allow any concerns from either party to be aired and resolved as they arise.

Game Ops believes that good communication is paramount to a successful contract.

Happy New Year!

Over the last few weeks many parts of the UK have been severely affected by the snow and ice and numerous studios have been struggling to maintain a steady workforce.
